NIK BLUMISH Nov 5 1983 – Apr 30 2020

I met Nik twelve years ago when I was shopping for a post-production house for my show, Sex Ed: The Series, I remember him as fondly now as the first time I met him. I’d not only found someone I could trust with the post for but I’d found a home. Nik and his team went above and beyond my wildest dreams. I always thought of him for any future project I’d do, not just because he was talented and dedicated, but because he was such a great, generous man to hang around with. I had many ideas. I am deeply saddened by his loss.

A fatal form of brain cancer took him. If you want to know what the definition of brave is, Nik left us video updates of his journey. His last words of wisdom are written above.

STEVIE RYAN, June 2, 1984 – July 1, 2017

I’m devastated to write of the passing of Stevie Ryan. I only got to work with her a short time nearly a decade ago, but she was, as many have written, the coolest girl I had worked with. Watch one of her videos today and rejoice in such a funny, openhearted performer. THANK YOU FOR THE “YOUTUBE PLAY BUTTON” AWARD!

My YouTube Play Button, or my YouTube Creator Reward, came in the mail today. It’s Silver, which means I have over 100,000 subscribers (thank you). Of course, currently Sex Ed the Series has over 278,000 subscribers (thank you, thank you!). Better late than never.

The Gold Play Button is for channels with 1,000,000 subscribers. I think we can do it. (It would help if we created more content, which… just wait and see. Fingers crossed, 2017 is going to be a very exciting year!

“SEX ED: THE SERIES HALF-HOUR VERSION” NOW WITH ENGLISH, ARABIC, HINDI & SPANISH SUBTITLES!

I’m proud to post that the recently reposted “Sex Ed: The Series Half-Hour Version“ now has English, Arabic, Hindi and Spanish subtitles. We chose those languages to reflect our biggest audiences on YouTube. While we cannot afford a dubbed version – how cool would that be? – we hope this will suffice.

I couldn’t be more pleased to discover this article by the friendly folk at Booknook.biz. Read the full article HERE.

The article is so thorough, going through each element of design and evaluating it, that I feel I’d passed a final exam! All I can add is this: from my perspective, a great book grabs the eye and doesn’t let go. Everything else – info on the story, taglines, etc – can be secondary, or put on the back cover. The goal is to get someone to click or pick up your book to find out more. I’m pleased to find out it’s working.

DEVIL’S CATCH – AN INTRODUCTION

cover_definitive - CROPDIt was going to be a Mozart opera with a body count. It didn’t turn out that way.

Sex Ed was done, to begin with. It was 2009. I was full of bluster and vinegar, but I had harbored a secret, one I could no longer keep down inside: I was a long time horror movie fan.

Devil’s Catch was my coming out party.

I wanted to create your typical “teenagers go to a cabin in the woods to have sex with each other” story, but instead of a killer or monster killing them off, they themselves would kill each other off.
